Company History, Qualifications and Safety:
Scott Dunford and Clayton Monahan established Summit Hardscapes in 2009. Scott has over 25 years’ worth of direct experience and training in the hardscape and heavy construction industry. He was the Operations Manager for the largest hardscape installer in Utah during that time. The relationships that were created during his time and the many hardscape projects he managed while there have carried-over to Summit Hardscapes which has greatly aided in the early success of the company. Clayton has a degree in construction management and has managed various large projects throughout the state in his 25+ years in the industry. His experience and expertise with these projects makes him an integral asset to the company. The relationships that he has created with his work on these projects were directly beneficial to our company being awarded the large transit project with the Utah Transit Authority on the North Temple Traxx Line Project.
The Interlocking Concrete Paving Stone Institute (ICPI) is the governing body over the industry. They provide the standards that all hardscaping projects conform to in order to create long-lasting and quality installations. ICPI also offers certification courses that must be attended to be a trusted and effective contractor. To the benefit of Summit Hardscapes, Scott Dunford has been through the ICPI training and has obtained their certification as a trusted installer. This added advantage can help build trust from potential customers as it shows our dedication to excellence and many of our competitors do not have this certification.
Because of experiences and lessons learned working in the heavy construction industry, both Scott and Clayton have made it paramount for Summit Hardscapes to incorporate the safety cultures of these heavy construction projects into the standards of Summit Hardscapes. We are committed to sending all of our employees and the individuals in our work areas home to their families the same way they arrived to work. Our target is zero injuries and we go to great measures to ensure we succeed in achieving that target.
Specialties:
Some of our specialties include but are not limited to: retaining walls, patios, walkways, fire pits, plazas and roadways. We perform projects for both major sectors, private and public. With our experience in these markets, we understand the risks and possible pitfalls associated with hardscape projects and know how to deal with them head on. This type of work is very unique in itself, but in large can be considered part of the landscape industry. We consider this a benefit because it adds another type of customer to our business. Many landscapers do not do this type of work because of its unique, difficult, and labor-intensive nature. As homeowners and companies become more environmentally conscious, the more opportunity we see for our company. Permeable pavements are a very large part of environmental design. Permeable surfaces created using paving stones are an affordable and logical solution and we are excited to be a part of this ever-growing sector of our industry.
Our Guarantee:
We offer a 5-year warranty as a standard benefit to all of our customers and our dedication to honesty and excellence along with our expertise in the field, gives Summit Hardscapes an advantage over many of its competitors.
